Dominique Perrault

Born in Clermont-Ferrand, France in 1953. Received Diploma of Architecture from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, Higher Diploma of Urban Planning from Ecole Superieure des Ponts et Chaussees, Paris and his Master's in History from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris. Established his own office in Paris in 1981, in Berlin in 1992, in Luxembourg in 2000 and in Barcelona in 2001. Major works include the Hotel Industriel Berlier / Paris, for which his office received many prizes, the French National Library / Paris (the Mies Van der Rohe prize) Olympic Velodrome and Swimming Pool / Berlin, Germany, the Media Library Venissieux / Venissieux, France (the prize for the best European cultural construction of the "World Architecture Award" in 2002), and the Town Hall Innsbruck / Innsbruck, Austria. Working currently on the Campus Center of the EwHa Women's University in Soeul, Korea, the New Mariinsky Theatre/ St. Petersburg, Russia, the Extension of the Court of Justice of the European Communities / Plateau du Kirchberg, Luxembourg, Multifunction Sports Complex in Manzanares River Park/ Madrid, Spain, Las Teresitas Beach / Tenerife, Spain, Daunau City / Vienna, Austria and Hotels on the Nueva Diagonal / Barcelona, Spain.?From 1998 to 2001 he was President of the French Institute of Architects.

Hiroshi Hara

Born in Kawasaki, Japan in 1936. Received BA , MA, Ph.D from University of Tokyo. After Associate Professor at University of Toyo, Professor at Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, he is now Professor Emeritus, University of Tokyo. Since 1970, collaborated with Atelier É" for design practices. His major works include Tasaki Museum of Art/Nagano, Yamato International / Tokyo (1st Togo Murano Award), Umeda Sky Building / Osaka (Nikkei BP Technology Award Grand Prize), JR Kyoto Station / Kyoto, Sapporo Dome / Sapporo (Annual Architectural Design Commendation of the Architectural Institute of Japan; BCS Award), Echigo-Tsumari Exchange Center / Tokamachi, and Nirasaki Higashi Hospital / Shizuoka. Working currently on Shimokita Kokusetsu (Snow-Resistant) Dome / Aomori, Aizu Gakuho High School / Fukushima and Taipei Dome / Taiwan.
